Saving Money For the Holidays

Everyone knows how hard the holidays can be on the budget, gifts and dinners and baking and all that stuff.  Not to mention the hustle and bustle of the shopping, busy malls, busy schedules

Here are a few of my holiday savings tips to help save you a bit of money.

  • First off homemade gifts can mean alot, we make alot of woodcrafts and our friends nad family enjoy receiveing that.
  • Use coupons as much as you possibly can, every little bit counts.
  • Hit black friday sales either online or in stores.
  • Buy in moderation, in the past we overbought for the kids and found they were overwhelmed, now we buy one larger gift then a few small ones and they are more then happy with that.
  • Do a gift exchange or secret santa with your family instead of buying gifts for everyone.  We do the secret santa with both my family and my husbands.
  • Buy all year long when you see great sales and just put it away
  • Buy gifts, wrapping paper and tape right after christmas the previous year when the stores have all their stuff on clearance
  • Buy your new tree or decorations right after Christmas when stores are clearing them out, it helps save money the following Christmas that can go towards gifts

In the world of bloggign we all know that we can win prizes in some great giveaways and that is another thing that you can do to help save money, right now with Twittermoms if you are one of the first 50 people to blog about this contest and meet all the requirements you win a $25.00 gift card to Staples.com
