I love Etsy, who doesn’t though right?  I found this great store on Etsy called Slings ‘N Things and they sell the most adorable cotton and minky slings as well as nursing covers, burp cloths, and cuddle blankies.  They even make a match my mommy sling although currently have none in stock.

It is no secret to my regualar readers that we are a baby wearing family, we love to wear both Maddisyn and Holden and use a wide variety of carriers to do it, I like the sling for a hip carry of maddisyn for when she is fussy and wants me to carry her while i am trying to get stuff done as well Holden likes it to settle down and go to sleep while we are out shopping.

I tried to take a picture of Holden in the sling but he was being a monkey and would not stay put but you get the idea.  The quality is amazing and it is comfortable to wear as well as easy to wash and dry which you know we are Jabbering Jessi are always looking for.

The sizing for the slings at Slings ‘N Things is based on the the measurements for each wearer.  To find out your fit you measure from right shoulder across the chest, to the left hip.  The sizes are as follows XS-23″, S-24″, S/M-25″ M-26″, M/L-27″, L-28″, L/XL:29-30″, XL:31-32″. Back 2 Blogging # 29 – Sleepywrap Review/Giveaway ENDED

September 19, 2009

Sleepywrap started about 5 years ago when the creator was searching for a healthier and more natural alternative to baby strollers. They tried the sling but while it made the baby happy it was not comfortable on their shoulders and backs. Then when their son was born they found baby wraps but were not happy with the types they found. So they started a search for their own material that was more sturdy and durable then the cotton t-shirt material and with a touch of elasticity that bounched back. The material they found conformed perfectly to their son’s body so they could wear him all day without the need to retie it and it was easier to nurse in.

Sleepy Wrap created the best baby carrier for their children and soon their neighbour wanted one, then their neighbours friends, then compliments and reviews started coming in and they figured that every family should have a chance to use one of these and so the wrap were made available to the public. The name came to them when they would see happy parents carrying their peacefully sleeping babies in their wraps.

We are a babywearing family, we have used slings, mei tais, woven wraps, wraps with brocade panels on front just to name a few. My favorite of all though is honestly the organic Sleepy Wrap now that we have tried it and he loves it, I have always loved wrapping and was sad when Holden wouldn’t let me wrap him.  Maddisyn loves the Mei Tai and Holden preferred to be worn in the sling and screamed the second I wrapped him so to be honest I was quite nervous about the idea of wrapping him again. We went out to camp as you may know from my going camping post, and we ride the fourwheelers while there. Holden is too little obviously to just ride so i wrapped him, now last time i did this it was with a different branded wrap and he SCREAMED, this time in the Sleepy Wrap he was completely content and fell asleep not even 2 minutes into the ride and slept for the entire 1-2 hour ride depending on where we went.

I thought his sleeping was just because of the fourwheeler and he must have been exhausted, the ever doubting mom that I am, so we tried the Sleepy Wrap again over the last couple of weeks multiple times and even if he is fussing the second we pop him into the carrier he passes right out which is amazing. I love this wrap and while we still use the sling occasionally this is my for sure, reach for baby carrier.

Baby wearing is awesome for your baby because it provides close contact, ease to breastfeed discreetly, ability to keep your baby close and away from germs of strangers wanting to touch your child, baby cries less, and of course baby is right there to hug, snuggle or kiss at your will.

Buy it: Head over to Sleepy Wrap and pick up your own original wrap for $39.95 or the Organic one (the one we have) for $59.95.  They even have an adorable organic sleepy bear which is available exclusively through this list of fine retailers.

Win It:  Sleepy Wrap wants to give one of my readers an organic Sleepy Wrap in either Khaki or Original, winners choice.

To Enter all you have to do is go to  Sleepy wrap and tell me which color of organic Sleepy Wrap you would choose. This must be done for any of your bonus entries to count, comments such as pick me or I want to win will be removed.
