Green Toys Review

November 15, 2009
We had the chance to work with Green Toys and I am so glad we did.  As you all have noticed we are trying to be greener here in our house, we use the metal or stainless water bottles, we are using green cleaning supplies from Green Test (review to come later), we recycle like mad.  Working with Green Toys just seemed like the most natural thing to do, Green Toys Inc. makes an awesome line of classic children’s toys constructed from recycled plastic and other environmentally friendly materials. This helps reduce fossil fuel use and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improving the overall health and happiness of the planet.
Taken from the site – Start Simple: Recycled Plastic Milk Jugs
We use recycled milk containers as the main ingredient in creating our toys. Yes, the exact plastic milk jugs that you and your family drink from every day. When you finish your milk and toss the container in the recycling bin, these milk containers are collected at your curb by a local recycling company, who then sorts them from all the other types of plastic. Next, the milk containers are reprocessed into super clean fresh plastic. For you plastic geeks, the plastic material we use is called high-density polyethylene (or HDPE). This material is considered one of the safest, cleanest plastics around.
Green Toys sent us the Tea Set to review, the Tea Set is made from eco-friendly materials, helping to reduce fossil fuel use and CO2 emissions, “all in the name of Good Green Fun”  The tea set meets the FDAs specs for food contact and is dishwasher safe.
Maddisyn loves to play tea party with her Green Toys tea set much to her brothers chagrin haha because they have to play with her, I think it is cute to see them playing teaparty, you know it reminds me of the popcorn commercial where the little girl gets the popcorn and makes her dad and brother dress up to play tea party to be able to eat some.  This set is very sturdy and I foresee years to come of fun little dress up tea parties for Maddisyn and me as well as her brothers and dad.
The tea set has 17 pieces to it: tea pot with lid, sugar bowl with lid, creamer, 4 cups, 4 saucers and 4 spoons.
For those with little boys Green Toys makes an adorable recycling truck that has a movable recycling bed and open/shut rear door.
Green Toys has a variety of toys and I have only touched on two of the many toys they sell. Go and check out the site to see what other toys the offer for you little ones. There is a store locator listed down the side that you can locate a store near you that sells them or you can purchase online. The recycling truck and tea set retails around $25.00 but it varies from store to store.
Thank you to Green Toys for this awesome review.
