2 IN 1 Potette Plus Trainer Seat & Portable Potty Review

January 4, 2010

Maddisyn is at the age where we are starting to potty train, we encourage her to sit on it although she is not very receptive and has only done her job in it once, and only because we caught her just before she did it on the floor.  Nonetheless we will soon be in need of a potty full time as we do like to travel and especially camp and it is hard for a little one to pee in the bush, especially a little girl.

I was recently asked to review the 2 in 1 Potette Plus Trainer Seat and Portable Potty. This award winning seat is great.  You can use it not only as a potty for both home and travel but also for a seat that goes over the larger toilet seat giving your child confidence to sit on and use the big people toilet without the fear of failing in.  You can use it as a trainer seat on the toilet from the age of 2 and up. To use it as a trainer seat simply unfold the handles to fit over the toilet. The base is non-slip and the handles provide a grip for your child to feel extra secure.

For ease of portability, the legs fold flat and a plastic carry bag is included. When folded flat, the dimensions are only 9.125″ L x 8.75″ W x 2.75″ D. The legs unfold to provide a sturdy base which holds up to 50 lbs, although when i first got maddisyn to sit on it I did not do the legs out right and they folded out and her little butt hit the floor, she thought it was funny which is a good thing.

The Potette Plus comes with three absorbent, disposable liners. You can preload up to three liners so that it’s ready for future use. The liners can absorb up to 5 ounces of liquid and is leak-proof so that there are no messes to clean up afterwards. The liners are fragranced to mask odors until their disposal.

So while we are still working on getting Maddiysn to potty train I do have to say that we are having an easier time getting her to sit on the Potette Plus as opposed to her regular potty, as a matter of fact her normal potty has not become a full time foot stool (it doubles as one) and she only lets us ask her to sit on her Potette potty.

The 2 in 1 Potette Plus is available online at retailers such as Kalencom (in the US), Fiberlinks Textiles (in Canada) and Amazon
and retails for $16. A 10 pack of Disposable Liners on Amazon retail for approximately $5.

Potty Time Watch Review

November 12, 2009

We are in the midst of trying to potty train Maddisyn, when I say we are in the midst i mean that Lee and I want to train Maddisyn and she wants nothing to do with it.  I could not even get her to sit on the potty before she would just scream no and run away.  Then we got the Potty Time watch and now she at least sits on it, but ONLY when the watch goes off.  The Potty Watch helps children remember to try to go potty by playing music and lighting up at 30, 60, or 90 minute intervals, as set by their parent. Children just starting their potty training will usually start at 30 minute intervals, and increase as they get better at knowing when they need to go.

The Potty Watch even came with these cute little lyrics that you could try to sing with your child when they are sitting on the potty to try to keep them longer, of course at this point Maddy covers her ears but for normal kids I am sure that it would work.  We will continue the battle and continue the singing and hope eventually she uncovers her ears and participates.

Setting the time on the Potty Watch was really very easy, simply press the button on the side of the watch then press the timer button until it reaches your desired time between trips to the toilet and off you go.  Maddy loves looking at the numbers and knows that when they go to zero the watch will sing and light up and then she heads to sit on her potty.  So thanks to the Potty Time watch we are one step closer to potty training and she at least sits on her potty now, even if she does get up and pee on the floor immediately after we have her on the potty, oh the joys, who said training a girl was easier then a boy THEY WERE WRONG.

The Potty Time watch comes in three colors pink, blue and green, all are super cute and reasonably priced at $9.99 each. You can also order a battery replacement kit for $3.99 which comes with 2 alkaline batteries, a jewelers screwdriver and instructions to replace the batteries. I think these would make a great stocking stuffer for those kids that are just starting or will be starting to potty train soon.  Just head on over to Potty Time and grab one for your own little ones.  If you buy 3 or more the shipping is free.
