Bink Link & Fruitabees

February 8, 2010
Maddisyn has always been a soother baby, she is seriously addicted to her soothers or as we call them here Chitches.  Holden takes them sometimes here and there but not all the time, sometimes he just likes to have it nearby to chew on or for “just in case” purposes.  The only problem with both being on soothers is that sometimes when out we lose not one but two, then we are on the hunt for both of them or buying new ones and as a parent some of you know these are not cheap.  The answer to this of course is a soother holder, the problem is that they are not at all what a parent would hope for these days and are too “cutesy”, gone are the days of the cute teddy bears and ducks in our kids wardrobes.
Bink Link has seen this and is offering a solution with their Bink Links.  They make some of the most adorable soother holders I have ever seen, when approached for review I requested one for each baby since I could not choose for one or the other.  Bink Link generously sent us two to review.  We received the Skully and the Alice and they are both too cute for words and go great in our kids wardrobes.
If skulls and crossbones are not your thing don’t worry they offer so many other cute designs like gumballs, rodeo, candy necklace and so many other themes.  Each Bink Link is made with wooden beads and is very easy to use with a simple slip cord, you slip the cord through the handle on the pacifier or any spot the pacifier cord would go and slid through to the end to make sure it forms a good tight “knot”.  No more losing pacifiers in the grocery store, playground or even in the house as sometimes is the case.
The same company makes great necklaces called Fruitabees.  The Fruitabees is available in the Alice like shown above, as well as candy necklace, gumballs and much more.  Each necklace is made with wood beads and put on an elastic cord so you can just slip it over the head and wear.  Below is pictured the candy necklace I think it is adorable and will be an addition to Maddisyns easter basket I am sure.

Each Bink Link and Fruitabees cost $14.00 and I believe they are very reasonably priced and would make a great gift, the Bink Link would look so cute on a diaper cake or in a gift basket and will be added to my list of stuff to add to diaper cakes when my friends are pregnant.

Thank you to Bink Link for these great products to review.

Rugs USA

February 7, 2010

Rugs USA is an online area rug superstore with all kinds of Rugs, in all kinds of shapes, sizes, styles and colour. No matter what your taste is or how your room is decorated you’re sure to find a rug to fit it at http://www.rugsusa.com

Rugs USA sent me a sample braided oval accent rug in purple, which looks great on the floor beside Maddisyn’s Crib. It’s very soft and you can tell just by looking at it. This rug adds the perfect accent to her room, except for when the dog is sleeping on it lol. Even with it being in her room and the dog laying on it and everything, it stays remarkably clean and still looks as good as it did when we recieved it. There has been a juice spill or two on it and it was very easy to clean (although it was cleaned right away and no chance for the stain to set in at all). When Maddisyn is told to lay down to get her diaper changed she runs right to that rug to lay on because she likes how cushy it is.

Rugs USA offers, Free shipping, a 30 Day guarantee, Price Match Guarantee and a neat Loyalty Program (which i’ll explain in a minute).

Aside from Rugs they also offer Lighting choices, Clocks, Mirrors and art to bring your room to life.
The website is laid out perfectly for people that Know exactly what they are looking for and those who arent quite sure what they want. you can browse by size, style, colour, Material, Weave, size adn even price for the budget concious people like myself. They have been featured in shows such as, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Ty Pennington Style, Apartment therapy and HGTV as well as many home decor magazines There is no longer any reason to pay retail prices when you can purchase online and save with free shipping and no tax. At Rugs USA it’s like having a rug sale every single day. As I mentioned above they have a great Loyalty Program which can’t be explained any better than they did it so here’s a cut/paste form teh site.

The process is simple, the more you spend, the more points you earn, and the more you save. They calculate your point total by adding all your orders, minus freight, discounts and taxes for the past year. The total amount you spent determines the discounts you receive on all your orders. You must have an account on our site and you must be logged in to your account while placing an order for the points to accumulate

The loyalty point system works as follows:

Every $1 you spend earns you 1 loyalty point.
When your total points reach within the values below, you will automatically get the corresponding discount on your next order. Your points will accumulate for a 365 day period, which means points received on orders older then 365 days will be removed.

100 – 300 points = 5% discount
301 – 700 points = 7% discount
701 – 1200 points = 10% discount
1201 – 2000 points = 15% discount
2001 – 3000 points = 20% discount
3001 and above = 25% discount

Pawparazzi

February 5, 2010

Maddisyn loves her kitty cats.  She is a big animal lover and has been for as long as we can remember so when we were given the chance to work with Pawparazzi we jumped at the chance.  Choosing what to review was too hard so I asked to be surprised and when I got the package we sure were surprised.

We received the Misty Pawparazzi set, valued at $20.00, which consists of Misty the cat, a purse to carry her in, a leash and collar, blanket, matching mini notepad and a pop out trading card on the back of the package.  Misty is such a cute small kitty and Maddisyn loves to carry her around and dress her up.  Speaking of dress her up that brings me to the next thing we pulled out of the package, we received the Flower Fairy costume set, valued at $13.00, which comes with a fairy dress, fairy headband and dragonfly purse.  It is so cute to see Maddisyn dress up her Misty kitty and love her.  She brings her most everywhere with us and loves to tote her around in the purse mostly because she has her kitty but partly because it is the perfect size for her to have her own “purse”.  We also received a plush pink Pet Bed, valued at $4.50, which is where Misty sleeps each night in Maddisyns room.

This set does contain smaller pieces and is recommended for children ages 4 and up, Maddisyn is younger then that but she does very well with the set and puts nothing in her mouth anyhow but still plays with the leash and collar under supervision.

The Pawparazzi pets consist of 6 pets in total 2 cats and 4 dogs.  Maddisyn is in love with Roxy and Lexi the poodles and I think they will be a good Easter or birthday gift for her.

Thank you to Pawparazzi for these great products to review.

Remington R-4130 Pivot & Flex shaver

February 3, 2010

Remington is yet another company that has been around the home for a while now and with their new R-4130 360 Flex & Pivot Technology in their Mens rotary shavers they are sure to be around for some time longer too.

Lee has had a few different shavers of the years from other companies as well as remington and he said this is the most comfortable shave yet.  The last shaver Lee owned he only used on rare occasions as he said it felt as though it was ripping the hair out rather than actually cutting it, so this is a very welcome change for him. I like it to it leaves his face feeling nice and smooth and theres no messy shaving cream left in my sink, grrr.
Remingtons R-4130 Pivot and Flex Technology Features;
3 flexing heads adjust to your face for a nice smooth comfortable shave
Pop-up trimmer for sideburns, mustaches etc.
Titanium coated blades which are strong, long-lasting, and durable
Rinseable to make it very easy to clean
World Wide Voltage for use anywhere you may need it

Rechargeable battery with a 30 minute runtime giving you about 6 shaves before needing to plug it in

Battery fully charges in 16 hours
2 year limited warranty

Some of the other Remington Pivot and Flex shavers have LED battery indicators, quick charge for that little boost, faster charging times even Digital LCD screens to indicate shave time remaining. There’s defenitly one to suit your needs as well as your Budget.

Thank you to Remington for this great shaver to review.

Cogs Computer and iPhone game

February 3, 2010
We are all gamers in this house and I hope that this will be one of many games I get to share with you on many platforms.  I am lucky enough to be a member of the Game Review Network and this gives me the opportunity to receive and review some games for you all on my blog.  Huge thanks first off to Valerie for all the hard work she does for the Game Review Network.  Now onto the review 🙂

I started out playing this game and kept getting stumped so my two boys came and sat with me and said “awww mom you suck” I am so appreciative lol.  Then they proceeded to help me through some of the levels I got stuck on.  Cogs is a new puzzle game for both the PC and the iPhone where you go through and each level you have to build a whole variety of machines using sliders to move gears and pieces and redirect steam etc.  There are 50 levels and three gameplay modes in which each player can play.

The boys have since given up playing with me and asked for me to put the game on their computer so that they could play it whenever they wanted and not have to wait for me.  So I went ahead and installed it on their computer and I love listening to/watching the kids play together.  They get really into it yelling slide that here, no there, no that piece needs to go here.  Sometimes they get too rowdy and I have to get them to take a break but this game has provided us with a lot of family fun time.  Here is a game trailer from Youtube that shows some of the fun game play.

I have recommended this game to a few friends and they have tried it for themselves and all feel the same way.
Do you want to try this game?  Then you can go to the Cogsgame webpage and download a free demo where you can try the first 8 levels, but I feel I must warn you that you will quickly become addicted and need to buy the full game.
This game was provided to me by my membership with Game Review Network, the opinions in this review are my own and not influenced by compensation of any sort.

Air Bud Golden Receiver Special Edition – New Release from Disney

February 3, 2010

We received this and immedietly the kids dove in and wanted to watch it, we have had it for a few days and have watched it four times.  Even Maddisyn with her lack of attention span really got into the movie and loved to watch it.  The older boys loved watching it and laughed hysterically more then once.  The special edition set comes with a whistle which Maddisyn has claimed as her “flute” she is so cute.  The kids all loved that the puppies were commentators in the movie and thought it was hilarious, Maddisyn would laugh when the boys did and point although she clearly did not fully get why she was laughing she was cute none the less.

Story:
Now you can kick off all-star family fun with the heartwarming Air Bud: Golden Receiver Special Edition, featuring exclusive all-new bonus action: Sports Channel play-by-play quarterbacked by the Buddies!  This time out, Buddy, the hoop-shooting, hotshot canine, tackles a new sport—football. When his teenage owner reluctantly becomes the school’s new quarterback, Buddy catches the spirit and joins the team. Soon, the two find themselves leading the Timberwolves to the state championship. But victory hopes are sidelined when two sinister Russian circus owners take a bite out of everyone’s plans and dognap Buddy for their star attraction. Give three cheers for Disney’s hilarious hit that goes the whole nine yards for outrageous fun and adventure.

Expressiva Nursingwear

February 2, 2010
I recently got the chance to work with Expressiva.  I still nurse Holden occasionally although due to milk supply issues it is not as much as I would like.  The big problems I have with still nursing him are that sometimes it is hard to do discreetly in public and it is very hard to find cute clothes to wear to nurse especially nurse in public.  I was told I could choose whatever I wanted to review and after looking at the site I found the Flower Print Shrug Dress that would be perfect for me.  I don’t normally wear a dress but this one is beautiful and goes perfectly with my boots from MustHaveShoes and would also go perfectly with a cute pair of heels (if I had one lol).
One of my biggest concerns was I am plus sized and this makes it very hard to find cute clothes that fit me and make me feel comfortable but this dress from Expressiva does all that and so much more on my plus sized frame.  This dress has a faux shrug which adds some great detail to the dress and hides two easy access nursing openings.  It is so cute and looks so natural no one would know it is a nursing dress and I can totally see myself wearing this beyond our nursing days.  The print would work great as a work dress, summer event or just an all around casual dress.  This dress washes on delicate and needs to lay flat to dry which is a bit of an inconvience for me but I will deal with it for my gorgeous dress.
Thank you to Expressiva for providing me with this great dress to review.

Potty Training – Sesame Street 1-2-3 Learn with Me Potty Chair

February 1, 2010

Whoever said girls were easier then boys obviously has no idea what they are talking about, or has never tried to train my strong willed daughter one or the other.

Last year for Easter Maddisyn got a new potty, and refused to sit on it.  It was a carefully chosen potty in neutral colors so her brother could too use it but with a comfy seat so she would not mind so much sitting on it FAIL!!! epic fail actually.  She hated the darn thing and refused to sit on it.  I thought ok she is just a little too young yet for it, she was not quite 2 and I will not push her to train.  So we waited, kept asking her to sit on the potty with the same refusal.  She finally decided she wanted to wear panties, so we told her she would have to potty as well if she was wearing panties.  Again she refused to sit on the potty that we bought.

I got frustrated and had no idea what to do, I mean I am still not pushing her but I really don’t want an unpotty trained 3 year old.  So Maddisyn and I went on the great potty hunt, well I did she just sat at the computer with me.  I came across the Sesame Street 1-2-3 Learn with Me Potty Chair by Kolcraft, which BTW just happens to be my favorite seller of baby items and I have worked wtih in the past and will be working with again in the near future, and immediatly thought I had a winner.  Maddisyn loves elmo and paired with the Elmo’s Potty Time movie I thought this would be PERFECT.  So we headed off to walmart and bought it for her, brought it home and put her into panties, the first day we had a couple of accidents and one time she started peeing but told me and we ran to the potty and she finished there.  I was so proud of her and we gave her mini tootsie rolls to reward her attempt.  Apparently the soft potty seat has nothing on Elmo lol.

Over the next few days we had more accidents then making it to the potty, she knows when she has to go, the problem is that she waits until it is too late and then we don’t make it to the potty in time.  Today she actually came up to Lee without him asking and said peepee, but alas they were too late and she peed her panties before she made it there, but yay for her asking she just needs to do it a few min sooner.  She was still willing to sit on the potty though and after a couple of minutes asked Lee, I get tootsie?

A 3-in-1 Potty Chair that speaks English, Spanish and French when your child gives Elmo a high five!

Monopoly City, Connect Four, Scrabble Slam

February 1, 2010

Hasbro has been a family/household name for years. I’m sure almost everyone has owned or played with at least one of their products throughout their life. I was so glad to get to work with such a great company.

Hasbro sent us 2 board games, Monopoly City edition in which you build up your property with 3D buildings such as houses, complexes, schools and such but your opponents can decrease your property value by building sewage plants etc beside your developments, as well as Sponge bob connect four, both of which have brought hours of fun to the family sonce we recieved them.

Chase and Blake love sitting with us when the babies are in bed and playing Monopoly or just taking Connect 4 to their room or the rec room and playing that for a while (it’s one of the few games the can play together with no adults and not start fighting over it lol).

Hasbro also sent us Monopoly Deal card game and Scrabble Slam Card game, in Monopoly deal you win the game by being the first to collect three sets of property cards, but your luck can change at any time with help from Debt collectors, forced deal cards and deal breakers.

Scrabble Slam is a fast paced game where you race against your opponent to change the existing words by placing your cards down, for example if the word on teh table is BOLT and you have an A in your hand you would change the word to BOAT. Be the first to run out of cards and you’re the winner.

The kids really enjoy all these games and it makes our family game night so much fun.

Thank you to Hasbro for these great products to review.

Greenie Two Steps

January 31, 2010
Greenie 2 Steps is the cutest whimsical wallart.  There are so many bright and vibrant colors in with each character they are sure to grab your childs eye and hold it for a long time.  The whimsical wall art that is both educational and eco-friendly was carefully designed and produced by Greenie2Steps.  It is very versitile and can be installed on almost any clean and smooth surface which includes walls, ceilings, windows and more.  Best of all if it ever gets dirty it can be cleaned simply by using some water.  It is safe & non-toxic, they print on fabric with safe and eco-friendly ink then they add a safe, water-based laminate and coating.  The adhesive on the back that allows you to put the sticker up and remove it hundreds of times is even water based how cool is that.  You can remove the wall sticker without worrying about it marking the wall or leaving a sticky mess.  Best of all though is that they are reusable and you can move the adhesive from wall to wall and the art will not lose its sticking ability even after over 100 applications.
Putting the wall art up was so easy as well.  You pick the wall you want it on and clean it with water, you then dry it off with a clean cloth.  You are asked not to use any cleaners on the surface prior to applying the wall arts.  Then you take the art out of the package and lay it flat for 30 minutes to allow it to come up to room temperature.  Then you peel the back off the wall art, saving the backing and placing it back into the eco-friendly tubing for future use.  You then stick the top corners first and then smooth from the center out to get a nice smooth spot.  To change the location you slowly peel it from the surface and reapply.
Greenie 2 Steps has art in so many cute charecters like I said earlier. We received the Greenie and Friends Art Print priced at $99.99. This print has Greenie, her younger brother Garrett, Geraldine the Giraffe, Lenny the Lion and Taj the Tiger.  We put it in Holdens room because he had a bare spot above his door that this fit perfectly.  It looks so cute in there and somehow it just completes Holdens room.  The installation really was as easy as it says on the sight although I cannot make a personal comment on moving it because I love where it is and do not plan on moving it.
You can order the entire line of friends like we received or you can purchase the art prints seperatly starting at $24.99 each depending on the size you want.  You can get personalized postcards for your child, or stickups that is simple the charecter with no backgrounds.  Another great thing they have is Eco-murals which shows Greenie and friends in a variety of scenes.  You can choose one that he charecters are all already on or you can choose an interactive one and place the charecters where you want them.
I would recommend Greenie 2 Steps to anyone redecorating your childs room, nusery or play area.  I think the mural shown above would even work for a childs bathroom.
Thank you to Greenie 2 Steps for this great product to review.
