Hana Salon gives back

January 20, 2010

Soon you will see a review from me on the amazing Hana Elite Flat Iron 1″ but we are still working on the review for that one.  What I do want to share with you right now is a letter from the CEO of Hana Salon.  You can read the entire letter below but he is being so generous as to include a blank cheque for $25.00 in each package when you purchase a Hana between 1/20 and 2/04.  He is sending it with the faith and hope that you will give back to your favorite Haiti relief fund.  I think this is an amazing and selfless idea and I am happy to post about it on blog.

If you won from me in the past

January 9, 2010

but did not receive your prize please do not assume that I know that you have not gotten it yet or why.  I do not generally mail out the prizes for the giveaways and as such have no idea if/when they are mailed.  So please instead of getting upset and posting random stuff on other boards about me and my blog how about you come to me first and send me an email letting me know when you won, what you won and that you have not yet received your prize.

Remember a company has 6-8 weeks before I can act on them not shipping the prize anyhow but at that time frame I will certainly do all I can to get your prize to you as well as warn other bloggers that working with that company is not so good.

My email is in my contact info but here it is again.

please as i said email what you won, and when you won it.

Made in… Does it really matter?

January 7, 2010

Recently I was writing a post and I started to think, is it a huge deal to everyone where your items are manufactured?  I know that most perfer to have their stuff manufactured in the US but what is wrong with manufacturers in Mexico or even ones in China?

I know that we have a lot of stuff in our home and everyday life that is made in China and also mexico manufactured.  We are ok with that decision although we did discuss it at length to ensure that both Lee and I were on the same page as to what safety precautions we would take when it came to toys, clothing etc.  I believe that with the proper precautions from both us as parents as well as retailers and manufacturers that something that was done by China or mexico manufacturers can be just as safe as something that is made in Canada or the US.

I also think that if by going to another country allows to keep the cost of some items down then I am all for that as well.  What is your opinion on this?

Tweeting Reminder

December 23, 2009

Please remember to check the rules, unless otherwise stated there is only one tweet and not a daily tweet, I will be deleting all daily tweet comments on posts that do not call for it.

December 21, 2009

The christmas crunch, we all feel it.  This is the time of year that we scrimp, save and sacrifice for.  I myself am a coupon shopper and will use what i can wether it be a dollar amount or a percentage off because even at 10% off or $5.00 off every little bit counts. is a great site I was recently introduced to that has coupon codes and other savings tips for a whole bunch of stores.  Lee likes to shop at Home Depot for a lot of our home improvement needs, and since we just bought a house we have been doing a lot of home renovating now with the Home Depot coupon codes on we will be able to save some money and put it into another project.  It always seems like we are doing little projects around the house.

I love to do crafts with the kids as well as crafts by myself, it is how I relax when I get some down time which with four kids is rare.  We love going to Michaels and getting all our crafting needs, they are usually our one stop shop for all things creative with the kids. has Michaels Craft Store coupons which will now allow us to buy more things to craft with the three kids (holden is too young yet).

Go and check out, explore around and save at your favorite store.

My Heart Will

December 16, 2009

I know i just did a post on this but have since gotten some new readers and have been asked a couple of times about it from friends and family so thought what better way then to post about it again on my blog.

My Heart Will is a really great website where you can go and create digital photo albums, videos, letters and notes to loved ones.  This way you know that even though you are gone your memory can continue living on.

You sign up for My Heart Will for 10 years for $199, you then name someone the caretaker of your site who will have your password and be allowed to send out the important stuff to your family and friends at the times you specify to them like videos or pictures from your digital photo albums or letters you write, or you can have the program send it out for you at times you input that would be special.

All in all I think this is a great site and I encourage you to share it with your friends on twitter, facebook, myspace as well as your family, this really is worth it and would be an amazing gift to your family and friends for years to come.

Minor updates

December 15, 2009

I am considering changing my blog back to the previous layout so please bear with me as I know the recent reviews and giveaways are currently missing from the side, you can go to the reviews and the giveaways buttons in my top nav bar though and you will find them all there, I am doing my best to get things back to normal as quickly as I can.
